Photo Books!

This last weekend I headed down to Aberdeen to see my parents! I found another possible shirt for Mike and his ring! My mom and I went to the bridal show on Sunday. It was so fun to spend the afternoon with her. They didn't have as many booths as the show here in Bismarck, but I did get some ideas for our cake.
I started our photobook guestbook a while ago, but was waiting on our engagement pictures to finish it up. If Mike is happy with the end result I will order it tonight. Since I can't print all of the pictures, I also like to put all of our professional pictures into a photobook so we have them all and can look at them whenever. I got that all finished up and will order it pending Mike's ok.
I am super excited to start working on our invitations! We aren't going to do traditional paper invitations.  We plan on using our engagement picture and making photo invites. One of my daycare moms told me about a place online that has a good deal on things like that. I am not looking forward to making up direction and map cards to put in with the invitations, but I want everyone to be able to find their way. :) We also plan on marking the way to the church with balloons or something.
We are both feeling so great about everything! I don't want to speak to soon (knock on wood) everything is falling right into place. We appreciate all of the help and suggestions everyone is offering. I am really hoping everything continues to go well so we aren't stressed closer to the big day! :)

Engament pictures!

I am so excited about our engagement pictures or many reasons. First, they are awesome! Once again I was blown away by the artistic abilities of Quinn from Glasser Images. Second, now we can start designing our invitation. ** I don't know how I am going to pick just a few pictures** Third, it is one more thing down and means the big day is getting closer! I have all of the pictures on facebook, but figured posting all 60 on here would be a little ridiculous. So as hard as it was to just pick a couple here are our favorites.

Mike and I have gotten pretty much all of the big things taken care of and out of the way. We went and looked at rings for him last Sunday. I don't want him to pick it out but I did want his opinion. I knew he wouldn't want any stones, and I didn't want yellow gold. After that though I wasn't sure because I knew he didn't know what was all out there for men's rings. If it was just up to Mike I am sure he would be happy with a $5 plain Jane ring. I on the other hand want it to be special, lets face it he will wear it the rest of his life. After some looking I know what one I am going to get, hopefully this weekend I can make it to the jewelry store.
I was able to work on some more projects. I started on the ring bearer "pillow" it has a few finishing touches and it will be done. Also a sign for in the church. I will admit our wedding is very pinterest inspired haha I have seen so many cute ideas on there that I couldn't help but try them. Mike doesn't have a lot of input to give on things. I ask and he says, "That should be nice." He isn't very imaginative when it comes to projects. He can't visualize the final product with just the materials in front of him, which does make it hard for me. He hasn't vetoed anything yet, so we will see.

Another thing down

Oh I feel so great after this weekend. It was so amazing.I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends in my life, and thus in my wedding. I spent late into Friday night working on wedding decoration moch ups. I am so thankful that my friends are crafty and can give opinions and suggestions. I love technology that I can send people far away pictured of what I am working on and they can help. So thank you!
I am torn on the idea of posting pictures. I want to because I am so into everything and it helps show the progress that is happening on wedding things.... but I want there to be the element of surprise when the big day comes... (for the guests). So for now at least updates will have to be just words. I have 3 ideas for pew decorations and made one of each on Friday. They have been narrowed down to 2 as long as the sizes work once I get into the church and can measure where they will be hanging. I also started on the centerpiece plan I had. We plan on having  variety of them as well. We want everything simple and small, we are going for intimate.
Saturday morning I ORDERED MY DRESS!!!! I am so excited I could scream. I am so happy with it and so thankful to Vanessa and the girls and White Lace Bridal. They were just wonderful. We also picked bridesmaids dresses. I am JUST as satisfied with them! Everything is coming together so well and falling into place. In the afternoon Mike and I had the 1st birthday party for my little cousin and daycare girl Hailey "badger". It was so much fun to watch her smash her cake and see my family. Saturday was a FABULOUS day. <3
Sunday was the bridal show. Jen was able to come with me, and I was so glad. I was asked several times by people why I was going considering we are set on everything wedding already. Truth is, I just wanted to... and hoped I could win us a free honeymoon.... sadly though no dice. I didn't win a thing. Also, I just thought it would be fun to see what all is out there for wedding options. A wonderful friend was able to come up for the bridal show as she is tying the knot is September. Nicole is marrying Brad and I am honored and proud to say she asked me to be a bridesmaid with a cute little note and HUGE ring lol that I will be so glad to hang on my key ring.  It was so wonderful to see Nicole today and her mom, I miss those gals <3
When I got home from playing all weekend I was reminded of my mess and all of the normal Sunday chores I need to do for the week. I am so thankful to have such a helpful man. Thank you Mike (even though you don't read this :) ) He helps put things away make the bed and fold daycare towels. I couldn't ask for more.
I am so lucky, my life rocks. Seriously. I am so amazed with the people in my life. Thank you all so much.

Big white dress.....es..... haha

Saturday was my second... and third time trying on wedding dresses.  I went to a shop in Fargo after vacation and found 3 dresses I liked, but am really turned off from the prices. (My favorite from that day was $1,800)
So, this past Saturday (2.2.13) my parents flew up to Bismarck with Dr. W for the day. Jen was able to come along too. We started off running at 10 a.m. at White Lace Bridal. I used to work at St. Mary's with a gal *Vanessa* that works there. She was SO helpful. I loved the atmosphere at the shop. It was calm and quiet and all of the girls were so helpful and honest. I swear I tried 30+ dresses that morning and narrowed it down to 1.  I had a birthday party to go to for one of my daycare girls at noon.
Then we hit David's Bridal at 2:30. It was so crowded. Yea I am aware that it is the season to be purchasing dresses, both wedding and prom. But good gravy it was nuts in there. I went through about 30 dresses there as well with minimal success. I did end up with 2 that made the cut but I don't think I like them as well as the one from the morning session. I didn't like how the workers there were all using the same lines on their clients, just trying to sell the dress, even when it wasn't what made the brides look their best. There are certain things I was looking for in my dress and the girl helping me didn't really listen  There were also a lot of random extra charges that kept being tossed into conversation. One being a charge for extra length because I am "too tall". The one dress was 2.5 inches to short even in flats. The extra length is 4 inches. then I would have to pay to have roughly 1.5 inches cut off and a new hem sewn. Plus a corset back put in and anything else they come up with. The $700 dress I liked there would soon and quickly cost over $1000.
My plan for this coming weekend was to run down to Aberdeen and check out the bridal shop there. But today I called them and they only allow appointments and they don't have one until the 23rd. I was told by both shops last weekend that I should order by the end of the month or close to it. So I have decided to go with the dress from White Lace! I was pretty ready to order it last weekend but had the appointment at David's and figured I should see what is all out there. So hopefully this Saturday I will get my dress ordered and I can get my girls all together and we can start shopping for their dresses!!!
