Wedding update!

Well there isn't much to tell, we got married! *HAHA* In my eyes it was perfect, even 2 weeks later I wouldn't change a thing. (yes some of you know of little things that were annoying or not just right, but oh well why dwell on those)
I didn't take any pictures that day (yes people asked me that and were surprised that I didn't take any) but our wonderful photographer Quinn, and her assistant for the day Jadea captured it all and we can't wait to see them. (Quinn and Jadea work at Glasser Images many asked and Yes that is where Mike and I have gotten all pictures done)
We are also lucky enough to have friends that like to take pictures with their phone and they are on my facebook page and on instagram with the hashtag #mswelch wedding. We also had disposable cameras on the tables but with everything going on <see previous blog> I haven't had time to take them in to get developed.
But I thought the decorations and flowers turned out great! *Thanks Mom & Dad For your help* And Thank you to everyone that helped set up, keep order and take down!!!

ok so I took one picture that morning, My, and Jen's flowers in my boots, that I didn't wear except for 1 picture. Everyone who knows me I am a flip flop girl all the way! And rocked them from pictures through the last dance!!

This is the groom's cake I got for rehearsal dinner. Mike seen it and many other "the hunt is over" things while looking over my pinteresting shoulder and thought we should include them... this was my compromise :)  This cake and our wedding cake came from Sweet Beginnings in Mandan.

Sunday we all went to Papa's Pumpkin patch for our yearly visit. It was our "honeymoon at the patch" It was nice to spend time with both sides of our families, and see our patch family that couldn't make it to the wedding.

2 weeks down

Yes it is hard to believe we have been married for two weeks. I would love to say they have been blissful but that would be a lie... The marriage part, yes couldn't have been better, life on the other hand has been not so wonderful.

Before the wedding my grandparents had been struggling with different health issues, not uncommon for people in their 80's.  My aunt on my mom's side was also having health issues. My aunt is doing much better and so is my grandpa, my grandmother however passed away October 20th. She was a wonderful story teller with an infectious smile, she will be missed by many.

I had purchased tickets to fly to Great Falls the weekend after our wedding for my cousin's wedding, She had postponed it a few weeks prior to ours because of my aunt (her grandmother's) health. I couldn't change my tickets so went for a family visit. It was wonderful seeing all of my family on my mom's side. I got the news about my grandma early Sunday morning.

Her funeral was that Wednesday in Billings. My parents had been there since the previous week, making arrangements and being with my grandpa. Her service was beautiful. There was a lot of family there *we really appreciate you all being there and the condolences sent by those who couldn't make it. It was a simple service with reflections and stories shared by those who wanted to.

Wedding week!

The time is finally upon us! Mike got a lot of wedding prep experience.... he was a trooper but I am sure he would have rather me done it. He did get a new appreciation for all the projects I drug home from my parents' house (who again I can't thank enough for their help!) Yes I know in my last post I said we were ready... but of course I thought of a few more projects. But the main task was organizing! I can proudly say all wedding stuff is in bins and out of the thousands of hobby lobby bags.

My new keychain! Purchased from KLG designs.

Mike hard at work alternating napkins while I finished wrapping utensils.

I got my ring back with one week to go!

The new phone case I made myself!

My parents' livingroom/ start of a project

The previous four pictures (yes super close up and blurry) are a sneak peak at our unity sand stuff

This wedding decoration will sit by our front door after, so everyone knows there are some "NEW" Welchs in town! lol it is hard to see, but it says new and est 2013 The brown showed up since it was solid but I wanted to mix it up so I used scrapbook paper with acorns.

4 days to go!

39 days and we are ready.... well almost

WEll it was a very productive 3 day labor day weekend! With the much appreciated help and hard work of my parents we got centerpieces, "treat" jars, flowers, decorations, sings and "extras" all done. I have a few little things left that we added to the to do list but nothing major.
I am looking forward to all the stuff I have ordered online to show up, like more personalized napkins, wedding party gifts and personalized can koozies. My garter came while I was gone over the weekend and I LOVE it!!
We are looking forward to our meeting tonight with Glasser Images. I can't wait to plan our wedding photos with them. They do such wonderful work, I am excited to see the finished product. They have taken all of our pictures for the few years and couldn't imagine having anyone else capture our special day. Our goal is to also get invites out this week!
I can say with certainty that we are 97% done with everything we had to do and can control (non food things). Not much longer and the big day will be here!!! As in other wedding blogs I have posted we decided not to reveal any décor and such all the way so here are some sneak peaks :)

My garter ~another Etsy purchase~

I had ordered cake cutting gear....but didn't love it. We picked it because it was the best looking in the "inexpensive" group. *haha* Since we aren't having a large cake it is more for the tradition of having cake cutting gear. I then seen stuff on Etsy that the handles were wrapped in twine. They fit what we are doing soooo well.... but we already had stuff so I gave them a makeover! :)
 A sign :)
The disaster of a kitchen table we had going on with centerpiece....

Dress hanger!!!! (sorry it is sideways)

before and after.... but still a work in progress

Ok so this before and after blog has been a long time coming.... and it is not going to be very good *haha* the pictures and formatting were not cooperating. I couldn't change some of the picture sizes and they were loading sideways. So if you want the whole story you will just have to come by and check out the house and the before & after photo book I made.

This is how it started, 22 cans of paint... 20 different colors and 2 cans of primer
The outside hasn't changed much, I got rid of the fake flowers she had all over and the crazy bee attracting flowers in the back yard.

The dining room and kitchen were covered in wallpaper from floor to ceiling. Mike and my mom worked their butts off taking it all down.

***********************************************************************************

The living room was the only room in the house with colors we could have lived with.... But since the previous owner was such a heavy smoker we had to paint.
**********************************************************************************

The front Entry way is my FAVORITE color in the house. This picture doesn't do it justice.

***********************************************************************************
Yes I know this picture is sideways, but it wouldn't flip and it HAD to be included so you could see the hideous floral wall paper that was taken down.... and the awesome tub :)

We will be adding a shower pole &head to the tub.

***********************************************************************************

Our room!! This is the first one to be 100% done. The after picture was taken before the window curtains, bed skirt, and last pillows came in. *The personalized throw pillow I ordered came* had to share :)
***********************************************************************************

The entry way had a huge cast iron stove *for sale and sitting in the garage* Mike wanted a Hunting orange room, this is it. We have a painting my grandpa gave us as a house warming that will get hung over the steps. We also have a wedding sign and some Willow people I have to put above the coat rack. I had them on a shelf but sadly it fell and one shattered. I plan on finding smaller shelves to hang around the sign.

*******************************************************************************

The downstairs living room was painted baby blue! This is the only room that we didn't get new décor for. We used the pillows and rugs we had in the apartment. So we changed the wall color to coordinate.

**********************************************************************************

The playroom was smaller then I thought, the queen size bed takes up most of it. But I wanted to have real beds for when we have company. It doesn't really matter though because its mainly used for toy storage and the daycare kids play in the living room. We have a comforter set that the colors were chosen from, but I don't leave the beds maid because the cats would just snuggle in and cover them in hair.

**********************************************************************************

More wall paper!! I am so glad that the cat box can get out of the kitchen. The bathroom will get decorated in a moose & bear theme.
**********************************************************************************

The "nap room" is the biggest bedroom. Mike and I thought about making it ours but we were tired of living in the basement and this way I can leave pack &plays and nap mats out. This room will also eventually have all of my crafting things in it. We plan on moving a big cabinet over the water pipe to hide it and have storage. This room also has a coordinating bed set.

Another sideways picture but I love our backyard. It is huge! It now has a lot of climbing toys for daycare, and there is still plenty of room to run. I can't wait to entertain back here. :)

Well that is that, finally. We still have a lot of finishing touches to put on the house but it has come a LONG way. We are so lucky to have a place to call and make out own. Come on over! :)
